Okay let's see what I was introduced that evening after the trip to the Eye. We went over to Kampung Baru, at Jalan Raja Alang for dinner.
Here's a different version of the satay that I'm familiar with. This one is called Satay Padang. The satay is served with nasi himpit and topped with gravy which is some what thinner than the usual peanut sauce.
Later on, we adjourned to Tante Kiki's crib and we got another Indonesian treat - Pempek. Sorry, the pix is a bit dim as the lighting was kinda romantic... hehehe...
There are a few references on this dish here and there and a whole lot more using Vox's search engine.
If I take it a little bit more, I guess I'll burst!! It looks like a tiny bowl but this thing is like a compressed sponge... it filled me up in no time. What was unfair, I was left to finish the entire bowl by myself while the other bowl is shared by 3.. huhuhuhuhhuuhuhuuuu... Tak adil.. tak adil... :P :P
looks really good. do you have maps and directions in wikimapia?

Sure do. The map is here. The place is called Restoran Ros (which is to the right of the map's cross hair).
If you're familiar with the area, you start at the traffic light junction at Masjid Kg Baru, heading towards Pasar Chow Kit. The shop is on the left hand side of the road, around 100 meters from the junction.

Not sure if this place serves pempek... I didn't see one then.
I don't think you'll get lost within this area, especially with the upcoming pasar Ramadhan which the whole stretch of this road will be selling a wide variety of Malay & Indon delicacies.
